- Elena Miras is stuck in Abu Dhabi because of the Middle East escalation.
- She describes the situation as frightening and chaotic.
- Other influencers in Dubai claim the situation is relaxed.
- Social media users suspect propaganda behind these statements.
Numerous celebrities and influencers are affected by the escalation in the Middle East and are reporting on their experiences on social media. While many trust the government and are “not afraid,” reality star Elena Miras (33) describes the situation as “scary.”
The Swiss woman has been stuck in Abu Dhabi since the weekend. Elena was on her way back from filming in Thailand and is now stranded. She describes the situation on Instagram and is apparently less relaxed than many of her industry colleagues.
Elena Miras is still stuck: “Very chaotic”
Since the airspace is closed, the Swiss woman cannot leave the country. “We are stranded in Abu Dhabi,” Miras explains to her followers in an Instagram story. The conditions at the airport were “very chaotic”. After the first night in Abu Dhabi, she explained on Sunday: “We’ve had our first night here – it wasn’t a nice night.”
The alarm rang three times. “That was a shocking moment.” She doesn’t feel the situation is “as relaxed” as some influencers claim. You can always see rockets in the sky. “It’s so scary when you look up and see it all.”
What also bothers her is that at the moment all we can do is “wait and hope”. Everything is “very depressive” and you don’t get any information about how and when things can continue. Despite several inquiries, she hasn’t heard anything from her airline. She also doesn’t know where her luggage is. “If anyone works at Etihad, please get in touch,” she tells her community, hoping to reach someone from the airline.
“We hope to get home soon.” Elena Miras is desperate about her situation: “I don’t even know why I have to experience this. This is really bad. I don’t even want to know how people feel when they experience something like that every day.”
Do you worry about unforeseen events such as political unrest or natural disasters before or during a trip?
Do Dubai influencers spread propaganda?
Reality star Georgina Fleur (35) is also stranded because of the attacks. She is currently unable to return from Thailand to her adopted home of Dubai, where her four-year-old daughter is. But this was well received by Prince Marcus von Anhalt (59). “I’m so relieved and happy,” she wrote on a video that shows the two of them splashing around in the pool. She had previously told her fans that her child was “accommodated in the safest environment in Dubai, with a cinema, bunker and the like.”
The 35-year-old explains on Instagram that she is not afraid because the government will protect her. Other influencers who live in Dubai are also more relaxed about the escalation and trust in the United Arab Emirates. Social media users criticize this attitude and curse in the comment columns: “Are you getting these videos from the state!? They don’t give a shit about you!”, “You can see how ridiculous this Dubai propaganda is among the influencers! This is worse than I thought, how they all have to post the same thing” and “Always these commercials, so ridiculous. I also sit happily on the beach with my kids and enjoy the beautiful weather when the rockets, bombs and drones are intercepted above me.”
