The mayor of Tomares, José María Soriano, who inaugurated yesterday afternoon Festival, together with the hotelier Álvaro Peregil that offered the inaugural proclamation, has highlighted that “From this Friday until Sunday afternoon, the Jardines del Conde will host the 1st Cofrade Gastronomy Festival. A weekend awaits us to enjoy our traditions with Lenten cuisine as the main protagonist, thanks to the work of ten hospitality establishments in Tomares and with the special participation of Casa Baldomero, winner of the latest edition of the “Cuchareando” contest. A gastronomic event, which also has live music and an artisan palm-making workshop. Don’t miss it. you can lose.”
Lto Moguela, Lolo Caracoles, Obrador La Pampa, El Viejo, La Grama, A las Dos y Pico, Avareo, Selva Negra, Da Teresa and Casa Alta, and as a guest, Casa Baldomero, winner of the “Best Stew” Award in the recent edition of Cuchareando, They will be delighting the public throughout the weekend with the typical dishes and characteristic flavors of Holy Week, in the Jardines del Conde of the Tomares City Council.
This new gastronomic event, organized for the first time by the Tomares City Council, together with the Hospitality Association of Seville and Province, and the Sevillian Academy of Gastronomy and Tourism, with the sponsorship of Cruzcampo and Makro, has like aim of promote the Tomás hotel industry, promote the excellent gastronomy of the town and value the traditions of our land and our culturefull of rich and varied recipes.
The Spinach with chickpeas, the Pavías with cod, the Migas de Cuaresma with confit cod and hummus, the Empanada, Cabrillas in sauce, the Leek and shrimp salad, the Idiazabal creamy rice, various tortillas, the Banana basket with ceviche and avocado, the Chickpea stew with cuttlefish and prawns… and for dessert, the Roscos, Torrija with vanilla cream, Pulley, Torrija with caramelized orange blossom, Rafael Soup or Brioche Torrija with chocolate and pistachio, are just some of the delicacies that can be tasted.
With this first edition, Tomares inaugurates a festival with a vocation for continuity that aspires to consolidate itself in the annual calendar as an essential event, where brotherly passion and gastronomic pleasure walk hand in hand. The event also has two bars, as well as a small market of brotherhood products and crafts with shops such as La Indiana.
Live music and friendly atmosphere
“Between Cornets and Tapas” not only is it a tribute to flavor, but also to the unmistakable sound of Holy Week. During the three days, the public will be able to enjoy the processional marches interpreted by the La Algaba Musical Association (he Friday, February 27, at 8:00 p.m.) and of the Torre del Oro Musical Association (is Saturday, February 28, at 12:30 p.m.), which They will fill the venue with emotion and solemnity.
