Stefano Accorsi has four children. After two children with Laetitia Casta, since 2015, he has been married to Bianca Vitali, with whom he had his last two children. The eldest, Orlando, the love child of the French actress, is a waiter. «In an Italian restaurant in Paris. It is important that you learn how to earn. I was a lifeguard and it did me good. Dad was a printer, mum was a school secretary, we lived in Bologna, we were far from the cinema, but when I said I wanted to be an actor they left me free, because they saw that it was a vocation. «From one moment to the next, I had fans outside the house, I turned on the TV and they were talking about one of my films. (…) It was shocking because you want the films you make to be loved, but when it happens to you, you didn’t take many things into account. Mastroianni said something very funny: “The actor is someone who wants to be successful and then when he has it he puts on sunglasses so as not to be recognised”.
So he decided to flee to France. But despair accompanies him there. In his autobiography he said that in Paris, at night, in bed, he cried. «The proposals from Italy had decreased, I worked a bit in France but it wasn’t the same, and I asked myself: what if that success never came back? It was distressing. In the meantime, in Italy I made films like Kiss Me Again and Saturn Against, but three or four in nine years: not many.”
From the devastation to the desire to get involved, to call him and propose his ideas, like the 1992 series on Tangentopoli or Orlando Furioso at the theatre. Now nothing scares him. Not even the age difference (thirty years) with Bianca Vitali. «We have never asked ourselves the problem. Ours is a beautiful love. And she’s great with guys. She taught her the study method, she graduated with top marks, she is organised, capable of solving complex problems.”
