Families from Ollioules and Var are being sought to host 30 American high school students during a cultural stay planned for the end of June 2026.

A cultural immersion in the heart of Var families
A search for host families is underway at Ollioules and surrounding areas to receive 30 American students from Tuesday June 23 to Monday June 29, 2026. These adolescents, aged 15 to 17, were born between 2008 and 2010. The group is made up of 21 girls and 9 boys, supervised by two teachers who will be housed at the hotel.
Students from three American states
The young participants come from three schools located in different states of the United States: Blue Valley in Kansas, Madison West in Wisconsin and Summit in Colorado. Their stay in France is part of a process of cultural exchange and discovery of the French way of life.
Volunteer families, without financial compensation
French families who wish to participate do so on a voluntary basis, without financial compensation. A sincere interest in intercultural exchanges and real commitment are expected. The safety and well-being of America’s students is a top priority.
Precise criteria for reception
Host families must respect several conditions, in particular having clean and welcoming accommodation, providing a separate bed for the hosted student and respecting the distribution by gender. In case of opposite sex, a separate room is required. The American student will be placed with a young person of the same sex.
Organization of the stay and support
On Tuesday June 23, families will have to pick up their host at the end of the afternoon at the bus station in Toulon. The return is planned to the same place on Monday June 29 in the morning. Throughout the entire stay, the student must be accompanied by an adult or their correspondent and never remain alone. The presence, within the family, of a young person of approximately the same age is obligatory in order to encourage exchanges and common points.
A human and enriching experience
Each family will take care of their guest on a daily basis and offer them activities of their choice. The main thing is that the student participates in family life and shares the habits of the home. Welcoming an American student represents a unique opportunity to create lasting bonds and discover another culture from the inside.
