Single-board computers are wildly capablebut they still feel like they grew up in a different neighborhood than modern smartphones. Phones are built for normal humans first and hobbyists second, which is why they nail the friction points that make SBCs feel fussy. The good news is that none of these gaps are magical, and plenty of them are already starting to appear in scattered, imperfect forms. There are a few essential upgrades that would make my SBCs feel less like projects and more like products.
