Kuwait – February 4 (KUNA) – An Amiri decree was issued accepting the resignation of Abdullah Bouftin, Minister of Information and Culture, and appointing Omar Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology – in addition to his work – as Acting Minister of Information and Culture. The text of the decree is as follows: “Decree No. 13 of 2026 accepting the resignation of the Minister of Information and Culture and appointing an acting minister – after reviewing the constitution – and the Emiri order issued on Dhu al-Qa’dah 2. 1445 AH, corresponding to May 10, 2024 AD, – And on Decree No. 73 of 2024 forming the Ministry, and the decrees amending it, – And on the resignation submitted by / Abdullah Sobeih Abdullah Bouftin – Minister of Information and Culture, – And based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, we have drawn the following Article One accepting the resignation of / Abdullah Sobeih Abdullah Bouftin – Minister of Information and Culture.
Article Two: Omar Saud Abdulaziz Al Omar – Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs – in addition to his work – is appointed as Acting Minister of Information and Culture. Article Three: The Prime Minister must implement this decree, and it will come into effect from the date of its issuance, and it will be published in the Official Gazette.
