The number responds to the hospital statistics. They correspond to the diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancer.
In dialogue with the Formosa News Agency (AGENFOR) The director of the Mother and Child Hospital, Víctor Fernández, explained that the institution has professionals in the area such as medical oncologists, who first diagnose and then treat the patients.
He specified that these are two pathologies: cervical cancer and breast cancer, patients who begin the radiotherapy regimen at the Hospital or can also do so at the High Complexity Hospital (HAC).
The doctor highlighted that until about three years ago, all patients who were diagnosed with breast cancer and required chemotherapy treatment without fail had to travel to Buenos Aires.
“Today we do it in Formosa, since we have the institution or the Nuclear Medicine Center,” he stressed.
Regarding statistics, Fernández specified that during the year 2025, about 85 patients were treated in the Oncology sector of the Hospital. “We begin the study and diagnosis and many times he goes to the High Complexity Hospital” for some more complex surgery, he said.
He added that after surgery, the patients return to the hospital to begin their oncological treatment.
