Azerbaijan has said that it will never allow any country to use its airspace or land for military action against neighboring Iran. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday said this.
This statement has come at a time when the fear of American attack on Iran is increasing.
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had issued a statement on Monday saying that it will not approve military action against Iran from its territory. Also, Saudi Arabia also says the same.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Bayramov Spoke to Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on phone on Thursday.
Bayramov said that the increasing tension in the region in recent days is a matter of concern. He said that Azerbaijan has been continuously appealing to all parties to refrain from taking such steps and statements that could create instability in Iran and its surrounding areas.
He said that all issues should be resolved only through dialogue and diplomatic methods under the rules and principles of international law.
US President Donald Trump had said that America is keeping a close eye on Iran after the violent crackdown on protesters in Iran.
He also said that an American “fleet” was heading towards the Gulf.
