The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate was informed by Nutricia Polska Sp. z o. o. and the RASFF system on the need for withdrawal one batch product for infant nutrition Bebilon Profutura DUO BIOTIC 1 (800 g). The reason is potential presence of cereulidin – a substance produced by the microorganism Bacillus cereus.
The decision concerns the product:

- date of minimum durability: 2027.08.18,
- batch number: 111540593,
- distributor in Poland: NUTRICIA Polska Sp. z o. o., ul. Bobrowiecka 8, 00-728 Warsaw.
The announcement emphasized that no other products marketed by Nutricia Polska are not covered by the recall.
Cereulidin (cereulide) is the so-called emetic toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus bacteria. Poisoning with this substance usually occurs severe course and most often applies digestive tract. This is being observed severe or persistent vomitingsometimes too diarrheaand also unusual lethargy or weakness. The infection can cause dehydration, which is especially dangerous for infants and children.
This type of contamination is considered potentially dangerous, therefore if the presence of a substance is suspected, the precautionary principle is applied and the indicated series of the product is withdrawn from the market.
The information provided in the announcement shows that:
- Nutricia Poland immediately blocked indicated batch in distribution channels,
- the company also provided information to parents and guardians via its websites.
