KOCHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has alleged that the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) provided training to selected activists under the guise of yoga training and sports education. This training is to eliminate opponents. In a press release, the NIA stated that in the raid conducted today at 9 places in Kerala, more evidence and documents of conspiracy and crime committed by PFI have been found. The raids were conducted at various places on Wednesday as part of further arrests based on a case registered in 2022 (UAPA).

The raid was conducted at 9 places in Chavakkad, Palakkad, Malappuram, Perumbavoor, Paravoor and Vaytila from 5 am. The search was conducted at the houses of PFI office bearers and supporters who had helped the accused in connection with various UAPA cases. Seized items include mobile phones, laptops and data collection devices. At the same time, the NIA stated that not all the people in the places where the inspection was carried out will be charged in the case and based on the evidence received, only those who are involved in anti-national activities will be included in the charge list.

PFI is facing accusations of collecting money for anti-national activities, giving weapons training to youths, preparing lists of people to be killed and attacking them. For this, the NIA stated that more evidence was found that the PFI had formed Reporters Wing, Physical and Arms Training Wing, Service Teams or Hit Teams. According to the NIA, the plan was to eliminate rivals using hit teams.
