by Archynetys World Desk

After a cold start to the week, warmer temperatures are approaching the valley, approaching 80 degrees for the weekend.

PHOENIX — Clear skies and very dry air are the norm for Arizona after seeing cold temperatures Monday morning.

We’re talking from the single digits and low 20s in the highlands and Navajo Nation, to the 30s and 40s in the lower parts of the desert. Colder places outside the Phoenix area may have been in freezing temperatures, but most areas remained above 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

We can expect to see some clouds pass through on Monday during the day, which by the way temperatures will be in the 60s in the valley for another day. The 70s return to the Phoenix area for the rest of the week with dry temperatures in the forecast. As that trend continues, it will take us closer to 80 degrees by the weekend.

And with the first week of February in the long-term view, we can see it continuing to be dry, with milder than normal temperatures for the entire state.
