Jesmin Voigt suffers from endometriosis. A chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. During menstruation it cannot drain away – cysts, inflammation or scarring arise. It is one of the most common abdominal diseases in women, but often remains undetected for a long time: According to the German Endometriosis Association.
