Prabowo in Paris: Meets Macron After Switzerland Visit

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com- President Prabowo Subianto departed from Switzerland for Paris, France, on Friday (23/1/2026) afternoon local time to fulfill the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Quoted from BetweenPrabowo and his entourage took off using the presidential plane from Zurich International Airport, Switzerland, at 13.51 local time, after completing the agenda for the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.

This visit to Paris is said to be part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and France, especially in the field of strategic cooperation which is of mutual interest to both countries.

Foreign Minister Sugiono said that Prabowo and Macron’s meeting discussed developments in bilateral cooperation as well as regional and global strategic issues.

“Fulfilling President Macron’s invitation,” said Sugiono.

The President was accompanied by his son, Ragowo Hediprasetyo Djojohadikusumo, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on the flight to Paris.

The President’s departure for Paris was marked by the Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, the Indonesian Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, the Indonesian Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Sidharto R. Suryodipuro, and the Indonesian Land Attaché to France concurrently Swiss Col. Arm. Aji Nugroho.
