Bucharest Accident: Pedestrian Killed in Collision | News

An approximately 60-year-old pedestrian died on Friday, after being hit by a car driven by a 41-year-old man, who was trying to avoid another car, on București Noi Boulevard in the Capital. Both drivers were tested, the results were negative, and traffic is restricted on lane 1 from Nuvelei street to Chitilei road.

According to the first data, the accident occurred around 12:35, at the intersection with Nuvelei str., the Road Brigade reports.

“A 41-year-old man drove a car on Bd. București Noi, from Bd. Laminorului to Șos. Chitilei, and when he reached the intersection with St. Nuvelei, for reasons to be determined following investigations, he allegedly avoided another car, driven by a 76-year-old man, and surprised and injured a pedestrian, a man in his 60s, who had engaged in crossing the roadway,” the police state.

Resuscitation maneuvers were immediately applied at the scene, but the doctors declared the pedestrian dead.

Both drivers were tested with Alcoholtest and DrugTest machines, the results being “zero” and negative.

Due to the incident, road traffic is restricted on Bd. București Noi, lane 1 from Nuvelei str. to Șos. Chitilei.

Police officers of the Road Brigade are continuing their investigations to determine exactly the causes and circumstances in which the accident occurred.
