On the 4th, KB Financial Group (Chairman Yang Jong-hee) held an award ceremony for the ‘KB Financial Figure Skating Dream Tree Scholarship‘ for aspiring figures who will lead the future of Korean figure skating at the ‘KB Financial Korea Figure Skating Championship (2026 Figure Skating National Team Final Selection Competition)’ held at the Mokdong Ice Rink.

Since 2015, KB Financial Group has been selecting 10 promising male and female figure skating athletes and awarding scholarships to them every year, with the goal of developing figure skating in Korea through sponsorship of promising athletes.
Scholarship recipients are finally selected by combining the scores of this ‘KB Financial Korea Figure Skating Championship’ and the ’25-26 KB Financial National Men’s and Women’s Figure Skating Chairman’s Cup Ranking Competition’ held in December last year. The scholarship will be delivered through the Korea Skating Federation.
A KB Financial official said, “We hope that this scholarship will be a message of hope for promising figure skating athletes so that they can continue to pursue their dreams. Going forward, KB Financial Group will continue to actively take the lead in nurturing future generations, including figure skating dreamers, and continue to support the challenges and growth of athletes toward the world stage.”
KB Kookmin Bank, a major affiliate, is also carrying out various activities to foster future generations under the slogan of finance that changes the world. Through ‘KB Dream Wave 2030’, a representative social contribution project, we are supporting customized programs such as learning, career, and culture to help young people realize their potential. We are also contributing to expanding the base of basic sports by operating the women’s professional basketball team ‘KB Stars’ and shooting team.
Meanwhile, KB Financial has maintained a deep relationship with the national figure skating team by providing long-term sponsorship for 18 years since 2008 to develop Korean figure skating. In addition, we continue to provide personal support to major players such as Cha Jun-hwan, Kim Chae-yeon, Shin Ji-ah, Kim Yu-jae, and Kim Yu-seong, and are helping the players grow in a stable environment.
In particular, Cha Jun-hwan, the representative figure of Korean men’s figure skating, achieved the feat of winning for 10 consecutive years in this championship with an overwhelming score of 277.84 points, further raising expectations for his performance at the Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics to be held in February.
