Striker Vladyslav Blanutsa, who was one of the most wanted footballers in the transfer market in the summer, is having a difficult time at Dynamo Kyiv, having not played a single minute since November 9. Thus, his chances to continue in Ukraine drastically decreased, primasport.ro website reports.
Some Ukrainian sites such as Sport.ua claim that Dynamo (Kiev) has decided not to reintegrate Blanutsa into the lineup. The 23-year-old has been in Romania for about a week, citing family reasons, but sources close to the situation say he will not return for the team’s reunion after the holidays.
The 23-year-old ram arrived in the summer for €2.6m, having been owned by relegated Second League side and later relegated to amateur side FC U (Crajova). But he was loaned to the elite Universitatya (Cluj), where he impressed with 12 goals in 37 games in one season.
And the offers were not late, writes prosport.ro. The Belgian Standard (Liège), Rakuw (Poland), Schalke’04 (Germany), there were even calls from the Bulgarian CSKA (Sofia) through two managers, and these are only a part of those interested in the 191-centimeter ram, born in Moldova and the son of a former football player. He was also part of the youth national team of Romania at the European Under-21 Championship.
“Yes, it’s true. Not only I wanted him, but also everyone in Standart (Liège) wanted him. The negotiations took some time and unfortunately got stuck with the agent. It was quite a significant amount. I don’t know how much FKU Craiova got when they sold him, but during our conversations, figures of the order of 3 or 3.5 million euros were circulating”, commented the Romanian legend Mircea Rednik, at that time the head coach of Standart (Liège).
“Standart really wanted him, they made efforts, but it didn’t work out. He should have come on foot, given the conditions in Belgium. Yanis Hadji, Skreciu, Razvan Marin were there and the world sees you. Blanutsa really has qualities, I liked it,” Mircea Rednik told digisport.ro.
In the end, the owner of FC U (Crajova) Adrian Mititelu let the footballer choose his own path and admits that he would have received more money from other clubs.
“There were also Schalke 04 and Rakov as options. The Poles were the most insistent and even paid better than Dynamo Kyiv. To be honest, Standard first wanted him on loan, then with an option to buy, but that’s not a problem. I’m surprised he didn’t prove himself in Dynamo (Kiev), but if he returns to Romania now, his place is in the first three teams,” says Mititelu and claims that as a potential he is one of the most interesting in Europe.
But the situation around him has worsened since his arrival. Dinamo fans have dug up posts on his social media profile in which he supports Russia in its war against Ukraine. This could not be overlooked and every time he appeared on the field, Dynamo ultras called for him to leave club and country. Despite apologizing and denying the posts, Blanutsa was never “forgiven”. He made 10 appearances in all competitions and scored one goal against Bosnia-Herzegovina side Zrinski (Mostar) in the Conference League throughout the autumn, but now someone will have to be found to buy him from Dynamo to show his qualities.
