
Gilead Sciences, Inc.a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Foster City (California)announced the appointment of Keeley Wettan in the role of Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Legal & Compliancewith immediate effect. Wettan joins the Senior Leadership Team of the company and will report directly to President and CEO Daniel O’Day.
Legal leadership developed internally
With a career of 14 years inside Gilead, Keeley Wettan he held increasingly relevant roles in the legal department. He recently led the team Global Legal Business Partnersafter also managing the areas Litigation and Government Investigations e Corporate Governance and Strategic Transactions. She was a key figure in legal support for the launch of innovative medicines, including lenacapavira six-month HIV prevention drug.
In addition to its operational role, Wettan also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Gilead Foundationthus strengthening the link between legal strategy and the company’s social commitment.

A solid background between law and innovation
Before entering Gilead Sciences, Keeley Wettan worked at the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett a New Yorkwhere she worked on litigation and government investigations. She graduated in law from the University of California, Berkeley.
