Montreal Car Fires: 7 Vehicles Arsoned Overnight

Seven vehicles were set on fire overnight in two separate incidents in eastern Montreal.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is conducting an investigation, but it has not yet led to any suspects.

The first fire broke out around 2:15 a.m. on avenue Gaston-Maillet, in the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles.

The SPVM received a second report around 3:30 a.m. regarding six other vehicles, four cars, a van and a truck, all parked on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard, which were engulfed in flames.

There is no indication at this time that the two incidents are linked or not.

No one was hurt.

The investigation was entrusted to the Arson Section of the SPVM.
