Casio Introduces Barbie-Branded G-Shock: A Bright, Bold, and Pink Addition
The Barbie movie might feel like a distant memory, but the collaborations somehow keep coming. The latest is a Barbie-branded G-Shock watch.
G-Shock Meets Barbie: A Pink Industrial Masterpiece
Casio has announced the watch as part of its 2025 lineup, and it’s every bit as vibrant and colorful as expected. The proof of that is in the GMA-S110BE, which is a smaller version of the GA-110 that launched in 2010. This particular watch features a multidimensional design with various small components, creating a unique 3D look.

Each component of this Barbie edition has a distinct shade of pink, adding to the visually striking appearance. You can spot a Barbie logo at the 3 o’clock position, and a heart motif indicator at 9 o’clock on the sub-dial.
The logo reappears on the pink strap, complementing the matching pink case. The case back is engraved with a silhouette of Barbie, making it a truly personal accessory.
Features Beyond the Theme
Beyond the Barbie-themed elements, the GMA-S110BE boasts all the features of a standard G-Shock watch. It’s a mixed digital and analog watch with 29 time zones corresponding to 48 cities. The watch includes shock-resistant construction, 200-meter water resistance, and five daily alarms.
Additional features include a 1/1,000-second stopwatch and countdown timer, amplified by an auto LED light, ensuring you won’t miss a moment in the summer sun.
Is Pink the New Trend in Watchmaking?
Casio’s Barbie watch isn’t the only pink addition in 2025; other brands are joining the trend. In the same year, Oris introduces the ProPilot X Miss Piggy edition, Oris’s own take on a bold pink watch face with an elegant spyhole detailing Miss Piggy’s portrait.
Bremont joins the trend with the limited edition Terra Nova 38 in bubblegum pink. These collaborations suggest a growing interest in pink, but whether this is a direct consequence of the Barbie movie’s popularity remains unclear.
Why Barbie Continues to Attract Collaborations
According to Danielle Thom, curator of the Design Museum’s Barbie exhibition, Barbie’s classic appeal is undeniable.

“A key reason for Barbie’s appeal as a collaborator is the longevity of the brand, having been a dominant cultural presence since 1959,” Thom explains. “Rightly or wrongly, Barbie is associated with feminine beauty, accessible luxury, and a sense of empowerment. Collaborating with Barbie means tapping into these cultural values.”
Conclusion: Pink Power in Watch Design
The Barbie x G-Shock partnership epitomizes how timeless brands like Barbie can inject new life into classic designs. The vivid, bold features of the GMA-S110BE reflect the enduring strength of Barbie’s influence in consumer culture.
