Nobel Prize winner Maria Corina Machado has left Norway, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) told the Bloomberg news agency on Wednesday.
Machado’s spokesperson, Magalli Meda, tells Bloomberg that the peace prize winner is taking care of his health and “has some free time”.
She has recently been treated at Ullevål hospital for a fracture she sustained in her back in connection with the flight in bad weather from Venezuela to Norway.
Before she appeared in Oslo last week, she had not appeared in public for eleven months. Because of the dangerous escape, she was late for the ceremony and her daughter received the peace prize on her behalf.
Where she is now traveling is unknown. Støre gave no further details.
