Two films from the Documentary Cinema master’s degree won awards at festivals

Produced as part of the Master’s degree in Documentary Cinema: memory, archive, creation (DMAC) at Bordeaux Montaigne University, class of 2025, the films Never better by Léo Lillini and Mi Okkitiri Adama by Mamadou Alpha Diallo made a notable appearance at various festivals and won several awards.

Awarded four times, Never better received the price of audiovisual training at the Traces de Vies festival, in Clermont-Ferrand, and no less than three prizes at the Poitiers Film Festival (High School Jury Prize, Maison du Film Prize and Audience Prize)!
The film was also selected at the Documentary Escales of La Rochelle as well as at the Rencontres Internationales Sciences et Cinéma (RISC) in Marseille, and its director is invited to the Short Films Corner of the Cannes Festival.
Synopsis : Through anger, fear, childhood memories, report cards and excess, Léo, tired of living with his hyperactivity, decides to dissect his life.

Mi Okkitiri Adama by Mamadou Alpha Diallo
With the Prices of students, Mi Okkitiri was noticed at the Traces de Vies Festival, in Clermont-Ferrand. It also opened the Festival Afriques en vision, in Bordeaux, and was shown at the Émergence Films festival, in Lomé, and at the Ant’Sary DOC Film Festival Madagascar.
Synopsis : When my sister Adama receives a marriage proposal, my father asks me to participate as a brother in the formalization of the marriage. From Bordeaux, I return to Senegal with my camera. During my stay, I took the opportunity to investigate past marriages within my family. What future for my little sisters and me?
