Amazon 30-Minute Food Delivery: New Test Launched

by Archynetys Economy Desk

Amazon is once again trying to conquer the field of one-day delivery, this time offering the opportunity to receive food and various household goods in as little as 30 minutes.

The new Amazon Now service has begun testing in Seattle and Philadelphia, giving select customers access to a service that will deliver groceries such as milk, eggs, cosmetics, electronics and medicine in just 30 minutes. Users will have the option to choose 30-minute delivery in the Amazon app.

There will be an additional charge for this service. It will cost $3.99 per shipment for Amazon Prime subscribers and $13.99 for others. In order to ensure super-fast delivery, they will be carried out from specially designed order processing areas, which will be located near the delivery areas. As I mentioned at the beginning, this can be considered at least the fourth attempt by Amazon to provide very fast food delivery.

The first time was back in 2000, when 60 million were invested in the Kozmo delivery service, which had to provide delivery within one hour. In 2014, Prime Now’s two-hour delivery service was launched, which was canceled in 2021. The most recent of all is Amazon Today’s one-day delivery service, which ceased operations in October 2024.
