How high the purchase price is in detail is not yet entirely clear. Originally there was talk of 1.1 billion euros. Most recently, 1.6 billion were reported. However, there was criticism in advance that Austria was tying itself to Italy in the long term in terms of defense technology. The Italian manufacturer Leonardo is already supplying the armed forces with 36 AW-169 helicopters.
