Monterrey, Nuevo León.- Starting today, all Monterrey Water and Drainage Services offices will be an Orange Point, a space that represents protection and support for all women and girls in Nuevo León.
When signing the agreement with the State Women’s Institute in the presence of its Executive President, Miriam Hinojosa; The General Director of the parastatal, Eduardo Ortegón, reported that AyD will be a site of temporary shelter, initial orientation and a site that is mobilized to protect them.
“Here they will find someone who listens to them, who accompanies them and who knows how to activate a protocol with sensitivity, professionalism and responsibility,” he said.
Ortegón Williamson explained that more than 1,200 women work in the organization who support the Institution every day.
“They make it possible for the service to reach every home, and — like all women in the state — they deserve safe spaces, fair processes and real opportunities to grow,” she said.
For her part, Miriam Hinojosa Dieck, highlighted that for the State Women’s Institute this represents great support, while she thanked Agua y Drainage for opening the doors to a new Orange Point.
“It is a space of immediate protection from an imminent risk for a few moments, and anyone who has gone through a situation like this knows the importance of having a door that opens and a person who adequately cares for you just when you need it,” he mentioned.
At the event in which Norma Benítez, Commercial Director of AyD, was present, it was announced that more than 50 workers were trained to provide specialized care in an alert case.
Likewise, the parastatal reaffirmed its commitment to collaboration to strengthen this network that protects, accompanies and opens doors to a safer future for all women and girls.
