Funny anecdote: They both met in kindergarten. However, it didn’t work until much later. They both now live together.
Beckenried – Ski superstar Marco Odermatt doesn’t just make sporting headlines. The Swiss has been extremely successful for years, but he now also provides private insights in his book “Marco Odermatt – My World”. They also revolve around his girlfriend Stella Parpan, who has her say in the book.
It’s funny: In the book, for example, Parpan reveals how the couple met. Both of them have actually known each other since kindergarten. But it’s not a real sandbox love, because after contact was initially broken off, they only saw each other again a few years ago.

It was Odermatt who contacted the social media platform Snapchat at the beginning of 2020 and asked for a date. “I didn’t really know,” said Parpan, who then met him at a game night with her friends. “In a way, back then it was the same as it is between us today: simple. And beautiful,” says Parpan.
The Swiss woman, who works as an assistant doctor, also reports on doubts she had. “I asked myself for a long time why Marco wanted to be with me. I often thought: We don’t fit together at all. Because I’m not as sporty as him, because I’m more thoughtful and like to have time for myself,” she said.
Today she knows that Odermatt likes exactly these things about her. “He always says my strengths are his weaknesses: I’m caring, loving, musical, creative.” Of course, she also reports on the similarities: They both love the forest, the lake and the mountains, do sports and like to party. And have been living together in Beckenried since spring.
The anecdote about her mother that she told in the book is also entertaining. Because mom’s first meeting with Odermatt took place in the kitchen. “My mother knew Marco from the newspaper. She was amazed when she came into the kitchen one morning and he was standing at the coffee machine.” (anre)
