Fuel Price Hike: Historic Increase Coming

by Archynetys Economy Desk

The US Treasury Department announced in October that Rosneft and Lukoil, two of the world’s leading oil producers, were included in the embargo list.

Following the blacklisting of two companies, which are among the important suppliers of the fuel industry in Türkiye, Lukoil announced that it has put its international operations in many countries, including Türkiye, up for sale. TotalEnergies, owned by OYAK, announced that it increased diesel fuel prices in the information message it sent to its customers due to the diesel that could not be supplied from Russian companies.

NEW PRICES ARE COMING FOR DIESEL FUEL

Journalist Olcay Aydilek announced that Türkiye’s two leading fuel distribution companies turned their route to India after the sanctions imposed on Russian Rosneft and Lukoil. While Aydilek stated that an agreement was made with Reliance Industries to import diesel from the refinery it controls, industry sources point out that diesel imports from India will be more expensive than the Russian market.

A diesel agreement with India may cause other companies to implement a similar increase in diesel prices as applied by TotalEnergies and Moil brands.
