Peter Loewe: DN’s Rome Correspondent Dies

by Archynetys World Desk

Peter Loewe lived in the Italian capital since the 1980s. As DN’s correspondent, he followed domestic politics and portrayed Rome and the rest of Italy in many reports. During the decades he worked for DN, he also wrote about culture, the mafia, film and food.

– Peter created a relationship with the readers through his deep knowledge of Rome and Italy. And alongside his assignment as a correspondent, Peter wrote books about food. The latest book about his favorite restaurants in Rome became a guide for many Swedes, says DN’s head of foreign affairs Pia Skagermark.

In 2007 “Good Italy: food, people and recipes” was published and in 2018 Peter Loewe released the book “Rome for foodies”.

– It is with great sadness that we have received the news of Peter Loewe’s passing. Peter was a fine journalist and a good comrade. He had a kind word for everyone he met, says Pia Skagermark.

Peter Loewe was 63 years old.
