NYoung rider Jan Riedmann from the German professional bike team Bora-hansgrohe died at the age of only 17. As the racing team announced, the Karbacher succumbed to his serious head injuries after an accident. Riedmann collided with a car on a training ride on Saturday. After the tragic accident on Saturday, Bora will play in the one-day race Milan-Sanremo with black ribbon.
According to the team in his Bavarian homeland, the cyclist was given the right of way by a 58-year-old motorist when turning. As a result, Riedmann was flown by helicopter to the Würzburg University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The youngster had switched to the Bora junior team Eder this year and had thus mastered the preliminary stage on the way to becoming a professional.
