US President Donald Trump spoke Wednesday against the return to the United States of a woman who had joined Daesh in Syria. Washington even claims that it is not American, which his lawyer denies.
"I have ordered Minister Pompeo, State Secretary, and he fully agrees, not to allow Hoda Muthana's return to the country!", Donald Trump said. Shortly before, a communiqué from the head of diplomacy made sure that the young woman was not an American citizen.
The young woman nevertheless gave interviews to several Western newspapers in which she says that she deeply regrets his actions.
"It is not, America"
"It has no legal basis, no valid US passport, no passport, no visa to travel to the US," said Mike Pompeo.
Hassan Shilby, the lawyer of Hoda Muthana, whose father was a Yemeni diplomat, protested against this argument.
"She had a valid passport" when she left for Syria in 2014 to join Daesh, he added. "It is possible that she has broken the law, and if so, she is willing to pay the price," the lawyer continued. "We can not get to the point where we simply rob those who have violated the law of nationality, it is not, America."
The case of Hoda Muthana comes at a time when the US President is urging Europeans to resume their subjects who have joined the ranks of Da & 39 esh and are being held by the Arab-Kurdish alliance. He also intervenes, as London has just decided to remove from his nationality a young woman of 19, Shamina Begum, who joined the jihadist group in Syria and wanted to return to the United Kingdom.
