The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) considered the illegal placement of Alexei Navalny under house arrest, as well as a ban on using the internet and telephone in 2014, according to the court's website.
The ECtHR concluded that Navalny was not trying to escape the investigation, and that the restrictive measures imposed on him were contrary to art. 5 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights.
The court ordered Russia to pay Navalny moral compensation – 20 thousand euros, as well as legal costs – 2665 euros.
Recall that last year the Supreme Court confirmed the verdict of the Navalny brothers, Alexei and Oleg, to eclipse the company's 31 million rubles "Yves Rocher" at the end of 2014.
