Will Halo: Infinite be split ‘in two’ (campaign and multiplayer)?

by

The release of Halo: Infinite is still a big unknown: after bad postponement decided by 343 Industries (which has postponed the game to a later date, fans looking forward to Xbox Series X|S they are wondering when they can get their hands on the new Master Chief adventure.

The game, as you know, was in fact expected at the launch of the new platform Microsoft, attes for next November 10 this year. So, unfortunately, it will not.

Now, in an interview with Kotaku editor-in-chief Stephen Totilo, Phil Spencer – Xbox boss – spoke of the fact that Halo: Infinite it could be distributed in a “piecemeal” manner.

In fact, Totilo asked Spencer if Microsoft had considered the possibility of releasing the game’s campaign and multiplayer separately: Spencer replied in a rather vague way, suggesting that it is, however, a rather concrete possibility:

[…] I think we need to consider such an option. So, yeah, I think it’s something to talk about, but we want to make sure we do it at the right time and in the best way.

The decision doesn’t seem to be totally under Spencer’s control – there were obvious problems during the development of Halo: Infinite, so much so that 343i also asked the writer Joseph Staten (veteran in the saga of Halo). We will see if and when an official announcement will be made about it (perhaps with a release date). We will keep you posted.

Halo: Infinite is always expected during the 2021 on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. The game was scheduled for the launch of the new next-gen consoles, only to be postponed to a later date.
