The year 2026 has dawned on the large multipurpose room in Bressols. This week, the volleyball club will resume training with new slots for all participants. Athletes are focused on the resumption of the championship following the end of year celebrations. Concentration wins over athletes, and the desire to win cannot be ignored. After several years of restructuring, the Bressolais club has taken on a new dimension throughout the months which are coming to an end: “Indeed, the town hall has graciously granted us an additional slot, and this decision has had a very strong impact on the life of the club” explains president Jean-Cyril Gannard. Because the efforts have been increased tenfold: “In fact, we now offer training on Wednesday evenings, intended for those who do not necessarily wish to compete or who do not yet feel up to the level to join a team” underlines the president, visibly delighted with the recent results. This possibility opened up new perspectives and a new audience joined the sports association: “At the same time, this Wednesday slot also allows for weekly training in addition to matches, which is really appreciable.”
Progressing workforce
In any case, the framework of the different sections is thus reinforced: “In the end, we find ourselves with more than twenty players in total, an increase of 30% of the total workforce”. The new players appreciate the state of mind and the atmosphere of the club, and they bring their dynamism and vitality: “This translates into a large squad in the championship and several teams have emerged for the cup and challenge part, because we went from one team in challenge two years ago to two teams in challenge and one in cup this year”. So, when this new year 2026 is concrete, hope is still there: “This year is the beginning, I hope, of a new era which will see the club grow and gain momentum with always a friendly and caring atmosphere” insists Jean-Cyril Gannard. The sporting objectives are still the same this year, namely to grab one of the four tickets for the play-offs, and, who knows, get a podium.
