Professor Jose Harvier Dias Macadan, head of the Venezuelan Military Institute of Military Engineering (UNEFA), emphasized the importance of studying Vietnam. During a visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, he described it as a political task and a command from the mind.

Bovenam: A Vietnamese Martial Art Finds a Home in Venezuela

Beyond academic studies, Vietnamese culture is also making inroads through martial arts. Professor Macadan, a martial arts expert with over three decades of experience, has dedicated himself to studying Bovenam, a unique Vietnamese martial art. He aims to introduce and teach Bovenam in Venezuela, fostering collaboration with the Vietnam Bovenam Federation (AVF). He expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese embassy for their support.

Ambassador Vu Trung My expressed his delight at the growing international popularity of Bovenam. he noted that if Professor Macadan successfully establishes Bovenam instruction in Venezuela, it would mark the first official Bovenam school in Latin America.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Ambassador Vu Trung My affirmed his commitment to supporting UNEFA and Professor Macadan in their efforts to promote Vietnamese culture, thereby strengthening the bonds of understanding and friendship between the two nations. This cultural exchange contributes to the already robust relationship between Vietnam and Venezuela. In 2024, trade between the two countries saw a 15% increase, highlighting the growing economic cooperation alongside cultural exchange.
