Vayrac. Concert for the church –

In partnership with Ferrandou Music, the Association Saint-Martin de Vayrac is offering an exceptional concert of chamber music on Sunday May 29 at 4 p.m. in the church of Vayrac.

The wind quintet Sylva Winds will perform recent works. Composed of students and recent graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, Sylva Winds is a chamber music group whose desire is to change the perception of the wind quintet. It won the prestigious Blake Prize in March 2020 and the Digital Chamber Music Prize in March 2021. The group created a virtual performance with original composition by Zoë Tweed (horn), inspired by the poem “Jabberwocky”, with Drake Gritton (oboe) as a reciter. On the program: three short pieces by Ibert, suite for wind quintet by Schuller, suite Bergamasque by Debussy, Tombeau de Couperin by Ravel and Jaseroque by Zoë Tweed.

The participation of spectators is free. The profits will allow the association to participate in the continuation of the restoration of the church of Vayrac, heritage classified as a historical monument.
