The soundtrack and the rituals have not changed. Donald Trump arrived on June 26, 2021, on the scene of his first political rally since leaving the White House, throwing his iconic red caps as usual to his thousands of followers. And he left her after a speech an hour and a half later to the Village People’s YMCA sound.
The slogan, however, has changed. The former president no longer claims to “Make America Great Again”, but “to save America”. The tone of the message has also changed. Donald Trump is no longer theoutsider who was ready to do battle with his opponents during his victorious campaign for the White House in 2016. He is a former president, injured by his loss to Joe Biden last November. And he’s prepared to make everyone he says stole the election pay, including his own Republican Party.
