LONDON – 12-8 (KUNA) — British Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz the latest developments in the US-led peace talks to achieve a lasting and just peace for Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister said in a statement that the leaders issued instructions to their national security advisors to continue discussions during the coming days.
According to the statement, the leaders agreed that while diplomatic efforts continue, Europe must stand by Ukraine and strengthen its ability to defend against the continuing Russian attacks on Ukrainian regions.
Citing the statement, the leaders also discussed the positive progress made in using frozen Russian sovereign assets to support the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Following the meeting with the leaders of France, Germany and Ukraine, the statement said that the British Prime Minister made phone calls with other European allies to inform them of the latest developments. (The end) nbsh/sm
