Two people died in fires in Riga and Grobiņa municipality
Riga, October 16, LETA. Two people died in fires in Grobiņa municipality and in Riga during the day, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) informed LETA.
Shortly after midnight, the service received a call in Grobiņa municipality, where a residential house was burning. Arriving at the scene, it was found that a one-storey residential house of 50 square meters was burning with an open flame.
A dead man was found under the rubble of the building.
Shortly before midnight, rescuers rushed to a call in Riga, where 18 square meters of household belongings burned in the apartment of a five-storey residential house.
Before the arrival of the SFRS, 15 people had evacuated from the building, but 12 people were taken out of the smoked premises by firefighters with the help of rescue masks.
Three people were injured and referred to doctors.
A dead man was found in the burning apartment.
After several hours, this high-risk fire was extinguished.
On Thursday, the SFRS received a call to Abulas Street in Riga, where wiring cables of 41 square meters burned in an underground shaft in a four-storey production building.
Ten people had evacuated the building before the SFRS arrived.
