Two concerts in Piazzetta Annonaria for the Musical Association F. Venezze

ROVIGO – Two concerts under the stars to start again after the pandemic imprisonment. This is the proposal of the Musical Association F. Venezze for the evenings of Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 June: two appointments at 9.00 pm in the evocative and central setting of the Piazzetta Annonaria.

An unusual cello and double bass duo will perform on Monday, with Luca Provenzani and Amerigo Bernardi, respectively first cello and first double bass of the Tuscany Regional Orchestra and of the Maggio Fiorentino Orchestra. Provenzani was a pupil of the great Franco Rossi, and in addition to having an intense first cello activity with the most important Italian orchestras, he is an esteemed chamber musician (member of the Trio Florentia and of the String Sextet of Florence, he performs regularly with the bassoonist Paolo Carlini and the pianist Fabiana Barbini) and teacher, currently at the Fiesole Music School and at the Le 7 Note Music School in Arezzo, of which he is the founder. Bernardi won numerous national competitions at a very young age and in 1991 passed the selection for the Italian Youth Orchestra, immediately occupying the role of first double bass.

Among his numerous stable collaborations, it should be noted that since 2004 he is the double bass player of the Solisti di Pavia, a prestigious chamber ensemble ranging from quartet to chamber orchestra, led by cellist Enrico Dindo. With the Solisti di Pavia he performs numerous European and world tours. He is a musician collaborator of the “Human Rights Orchestra” movement (Orchestra for Human Rights), a movement created and led by the great horn player Alessio Allegrini, who is responsible for collecting, through concerts and events, funds intended to help people in difficulty.

Since 2002 he has been a member of the Bass Gang, one of the most popular double bass ensembles in the world, with which he performed with great success in Rovigo a few years ago, again for the F. Venezze Music Association. On the program, music from three great classics: WA Mozart, JS Bach and G. Rossini, but, given the versatility of the two artists on stage, musical forays into territories far from the golden classicism are probable.

Tuesday will be the turn of the Bazzini Consort, Brescia ensemble with variable structure, here in quartet formation, led by the brilliant violinist Gabriele Bellu, among other things violin teacher at the Adria Conservatory, with a fascinating program of very famous film music that will be presented by Bellu himself, a musician who boasts notable collaborations as shoulder of the first violins with numerous and important Italian orchestras, including that of Il Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and with the Filarmonica della Scala, always with directors of international fame and prestige, such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Mazel and Claudio Abbado .

He also plays regularly with Giovanni Sollima.

Two very different programs, but both full of charm.

As for the ticket office, booking is preferable, even with a simple Whatsapp message at n. 3791322643; the full ticket costs € 10.00, while the members enter with a reduced ticket of € 5.00, and the students of the Conservatories, musical secondary schools and musical high schools enter for free, obviously all in full compliance with current Covid legislation -19.
