Trump & Rogan: Middle East War Causes Rift

by Archynetys Sports Desk

It’s an understatement to say that host Joe Rogan let loose on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, Tuesday March 10, discussing the war in Iran. He declared that this war was “madness” and that it gave Americans the feeling “to have been betrayed”, reports The New York Times.

The podcaster also considered that it was a radical turnaround compared to Donald Trump‘s electoral promises, recalling that the tenant of the White House “campaigned on the promise of ending wars”.

“And here we end up with a war, which we can’t even really clearly explain why we started it.”

Joe Rogan even compared the war in Iran to the intervention in Venezuela, which led to the capture of Nicolás Maduro in January. He declared that “neither of these operations made sense”, but that at least the capture of Maduro had been “own”.

“Trump’s biggest political weaknesses”

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the most popular podcasts in the United States, recalls the New York daily. Famous for his outspokenness, its host is known for having changing political positions. “He had supported the candidacy of the very progressive senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, in the Democratic primaries in 2020, then supported Trump in the 2024 presidential election,” recalls the newspaper. The fact remains that his iconoclastic opinions, as well as his large audience, make him “an important voice” in the media ecosystem of the American conservative right.

As the channel recalls for its part CNN, Joe Rogan is one of those who allowed Donald Trump to “form a coalition of voters that proved to be a winner in the 2024 presidential election”. Today the podcaster perfectly embodies the difficulties encountered by Trump in keeping this coalition united. Since mid-2025, the host has opposed Trump on a number of issues, including “some of Trump’s biggest political weaknesses”, note CNN, like the Epstein affair, his immigration crackdown policy and today Operation Epic Fury.

And the channel reminds us that the war in Iran is very unpopular, “Almost every poll shows that a majority of Americans are opposed to war,” underlines CNN, adding that it is “of the most unpopular military conflict” in the United States for decades.
