Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – In the process of group raping an 18-year-old in front of a disco in Freiburg, the prosecutors have ordered prison terms of up to five and a half years. Eight of the eleven defendants should be convicted of rape, a prosecution spokesman said on Monday. You should be in custody for two years and ten months to five and a half years. Two defendants were guilty of failure to provide assistance. They should be detained for seven months each, one on probation. A defendant can be acquitted.
The trial at the Freiburg Regional Court had started just over a year ago. Eleven men between the ages of 18 and 30 were charged. Most of them are refugees. They are accused of raping the 18-year-old in a bush in front of a disco in the middle of October 2018, or of not helping her. You deny this or remain silent on the allegations.
For the plea, the court for the protection of personal rights had excluded the public. This also applies to the planned pleadings by the eleven defenders. They did not want to speak publicly on Monday. According to the information, the court wants to announce judgments in mid-July (file number 6 KLs 181 Js 1138/19 AK 2/19 and 6 KLs 181 Js 35640/18 AK 3/19).
The prosecutors demanded the highest punishment for the alleged main perpetrator. He is said to have raped the 18-year-old and then encouraged other men to rape him in the disco. Due to another allegation of rape, the judiciary is planning a further trial against him after the judge’s decision in the disco case.
