If the accusation holds, the European Tour could lose sponsors, events and player participation while LIV seeks to expand its influence in professional golf. DP World Tour chief, speaking to The Scotsman, described LIV’s intent as a deliberate attack. ESPN relayed McIlroy’s remark that the rivalry has turned professional golf into an arms race.

GOLF.com noted the tour’s CEO disputes LIV’s claim of cooperation, and BBC reproduced the same allegation. Meanwhile, Today’s Golfer reported a LIV Golf star saying his future is in doubt after a further ‘massive blow’ to the brand. LIV Golf counters the accusations, stating it is playing nice with the European circuit.

Future reporting will need to clarify whether the dispute leads to legal actions, changes in tournament affiliations, or shifts in player contracts.
