Pre-order Minecraft for Nintendo Switch™ 2 today!

The announcement bundles a free digital upgrade for current Switch owners, positioning the launch as a limited‑time incentive. This surprise contrasts with typical separate purchases for new hardware and software. The timing aligns with Nintendo's push to boost Switch 2 sales ahead of the holiday season, making the combined hardware‑software offer a strategic move. Nintendo Life confirmed the free digital upgrade path, noting that players who already own Minecraft digitally will receive the Switch 2 version at no extra charge.

Final Weapon echoed the offer, describing it as a complimentary upgrade for existing owners. Nintendo Everything highlighted the limited‑time nature of the promotion, underscoring that the upgrade will not be available indefinitely. Both outlets stressed that the upgrade applies only to digital copies, leaving physical owners to purchase the new version separately. Interested gamers can secure a copy through the pre‑order portal now.

Coverage does not yet specify the final launch date, so monitoring official Nintendo channels for the release schedule is advisable. Players should watch for a confirmation of the exact shipping window, which Nintendo is expected to announce in the coming weeks.
