  • Velocity & Diffusion: Coverage exploded across 5 distinct news outlets with 5 published articles, achieving a live velocity of 14.
  • Primary Driver: Marjoe Gortner, the former child evangelist turned Hollywood actor known for 'Earthquake' and an Oscar-winning documentary, has died at age 82.
  • Source Integrity: Verified strictly against primary headline reporting under zero-hallucination protocols.

Variety and The Hollywood Reporter verified the passing to wider audiences, pointing to his long career bridging the revival tent and Hollywood productions. Subsequent coverage from The Statesman and Substack detailed his screen work, identifying him as both a veteran actor and the focal subject of an Oscar-winning documentary examining his youth as an evangelical preacher.

Reporting consistently notes his most recognizable film and television credits, specifically highlighting his roles in the feature "Earthquake" and the drama series "Falcon Crest." Across the published accounts, there is little divergence in biographical milestones, though a minor discrepancy appears in the date tracking: the Legacy obituary lists an entry dated October 2, 2026, whereas trade and news outlets published notices on October 5 without explicitly clarifying the exact date or circumstances of his death.
