Microsoft Patches CVSS 10.0 Azure AI Foundry Flaw Enabling Unauthorized Privilege Escalation

Enterprises relying on Microsoft's cloud infrastructure face acute operational exposure to unauthorized privilege escalation after the emergence of a maximum-severity vulnerability in Azure AI Foundry. Rated at CVSS 10.0, the critical flaw permitted unauthorized actors to escalate privileges within cloud and artificial intelligence environments, directly endangering tenant access controls, systemic integrity, and organizational data boundaries. The AI Foundry resolution belongs to an extensive wave of cloud security updates.

SecurityWeek documented that Microsoft patched 18 vulnerabilities spanning its AI and cloud product lines. At the same time, TechGig reported that Microsoft has patched over 2,750 vulnerabilities so far this year, an ongoing campaign marked by two actively exploited zero-days. The scope of Azure's September vulnerabilities extends well beyond AI systems alone: reporting from Forkast News shows the latest CVE cluster also blankets PostgreSQL and Billing services.

The immediate test is whether administrators can mitigate the entire cluster before threat actors leverage the wider attack surface.
