White’s position was echoed in a parallel report on sports.yahoo.com, establishing the baseline that the title would remain open. MMA Fighting and Yahoo Sports both published White’s remark that Gane “still got to fight” before he could claim undisputed status, a phrase reproduced verbatim in the MMAJunkie USA Today piece. Sports Illustrated presented Aspinall’s own update after vacating, confirming the belt’s vacancy and underscoring that no replacement champion has been named.

The repeated emphasis on a pending fight frames the next step in the heavyweight picture. Sportsnet.ca and MMAJunkie both reported that the UFC will not crown Gane undisputed champion, aligning with the earlier statements from Yahoo Sports. No outlet provided a schedule or opponent for Gane, and the heavyweight crown remains officially vacant.

The current state, as described across the seven sources, is a title picture awaiting a decisive bout to determine the undisputed champion.
