The Seattle SuperSonics' potential return to the city is being challenged by a new bidder who wants to build a new arena outside of Seattle. The first bidder, with tribal ties, had previously been in talks with potential ownership groups.

The new bidder, however, has a different plan in place. The New York Times and NBC Sports have reported on the emergence of this second bidder.

Las Vegas Review-Journal has also covered the potential connection between Diamond Arena and potential NBA ownership groups. The city's future with the Sonics remains uncertain as the bidding process continues.
