The reversal follows an intense backlash in the United Kingdom that erupted after reports of the Duchess’s involvement. The change overturns earlier coverage that she was in talks for the role.

CNN had earlier highlighted the discussion about the UK‑based series, and the Chicago Tribune suggested the job might help “save her marriage.” Yahoo quoted Markle stating she will “call the shots” over her acting comeback, underscoring her desire for control. Observers anticipate that the streaming service may announce a replacement or outline a revised lineup for the series.

Markle’s next public move in entertainment is likely to be monitored, with any future statements expected to clarify her role in upcoming projects.
