The incident gained traction following the event held on August 8, 2026.

Fightful and Cageside Seats identify the assailant as a WWE mystery man, linking the wrestler's presence to the crossover atmosphere fostered by the recent AAA on FOX broadcast partnership. Pro Wrestling Dot Net and Fights Around The World confirm the attack took place during the Verano De Escándalo card, which also featured a title defense by Lady Flammer and a promotional segment involving Dominik Mysterio.
