Bandai Namco revealed the title during a recent 35th-anniversary broadcast, confirming that the initial installment of the Z2 series is undergoing development for a modern release. Originally launched for the PlayStation Portable, the tactical RPG is returning to gaming platforms as a surprise revival. The project serves as a significant development for players who engaged with the title during its 2011 debut, effectively bringing the classic combat mechanics and narrative scope of the Hakai-hen entry to a new audience.

While the remaster news dominates headlines, Super Robot Wars Y is also receiving immediate attention. The title is scheduled to launch its Anniversary Expansion Pack on August 5, alongside the deployment of the 1.4.0 update. This expansion acts as paid DLC, providing additional content for active players of the series even as the studio pivots toward the Z2 restoration.

Coverage does not yet specify a firm launch date or the list of platforms that will host the revived title, nor are there details regarding potential graphical or mechanical enhancements.
