McCarthy and Kyler Murray. This development follows a period of training camp observations where fans have gathered to witness the ongoing evaluation of the team’s signal-callers. The official team perspective emphasizes the importance of Jefferson’s connection with both players as the roster competition remains fluid.

Yahoo Sports reporting later added detail to the team's training camp dynamics, noting that McCarthy has received an increased share of first-team snaps.
